Foam Production Operative APPLY NOW

We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Foam Production Operative to join our production team. This role involves the precise cutting, preparation, assembly, and finishing of foam products, ensuring that all work meets the required quality standards and production targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Band Knife Operation: Operate a band knife to cut foam into specific shapes, sizes, and thicknesses in line with templates, patterns, or production specifications.
• Accurate Measuring: Measure and mark foam blocks or sheets prior to cutting, ensuring consistency and minimising material waste.
• Quality Control: Inspect foam for defects such as air pockets or uneven textures, making sure all cuts meet the required specifications and tolerances.
• Material Efficiency: Arrange and nest foam pieces strategically to reduce waste and maximise the use of materials during the cutting process.
• Foam Gluing: Assemble and glue foam components, including the construction of full foam mattresses, using appropriate adhesives and techniques to ensure product strength and consistency.
• Foam Cutting Carousel Operation: Operate foam cutting carousels (manual, semi-automated, or automated) to support efficient, high-volume production.
• Fitting Zip Covers: Fit zip-on fabric covers to foam mattresses and toppers accurately, ensuring a neat and secure finish in line with quality expectations.
• Health & Safety: Follow all health and safety procedures, maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily production targets and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
• Maintain a clean and organised workstation to uphold health and safety standards.

Skills & Experience:

• Previous experience in a foam processing or manufacturing environment is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality finished products.
• Ability to read and follow cutting patterns, measurements, or technical drawings accurately.
• Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven production environment.
